Funding Description – European mini-slate development 2025
What the grant finances
* Development (not production) of a slate of 2–3 audiovisual works (fiction, animation, or creative documentary) intended for cinema, TV, VoD or multi-platform release.
* Optional: one short film by an *emerging* European talent, mentored by the beneficiary company.
* Eligible activities per project may include:
* story & script writing, research, visual development, teasers/pitch trailers
* market analysis, audience & distribution strategy design
* business planning, legal & financial packaging, search for co-producers
* green-production planning & gender/diversity mainstreaming during development.
Funding modality
* Type of action: CREA-LS (lump-sum grant).
* Grant amount: Fixed lump sum (single payment schedule) defined in the call document; no cost reporting – payment is linked to achieving the agreed work-packages & milestones.
* Co-financing rate: 100 % of the lump sum (beneficiary can spend more but EU contribution is capped at the lump-sum value).
* Duration: Up to 30 months from the starting date stated in the Grant Agreement.
Who can apply
* Independent European* audiovisual production companies established in one of the countries participating in the MEDIA strand.
* Company must hold the majority of the rights to every project in the slate.
* Minimum track record: at least one eligible work commercially distributed (cinema release, TV broadcast or VoD) in *at least three* MEDIA countries during the 5 years preceding the call opening (see call text for precise wording).
* Only single applicants (no consortia) but international co-development partnerships inside the slate are encouraged.

2. Development stage: projects must not have entered principal photography before submission.
3. Rights: applicant must control 50 % plus of the rights until at least 5 years after first exploitation.
