What is funded?

The European Defence Fund (EDF) will finance one pan-European consortium that:

* Coordinates and professionalises the entire EDF-NFP network.

* Delivers joint trainings, twinning schemes and cross-border matchmaking at defence fairs or national EDF Info Days.

* Produces reusable promotional material (digital & print) and a multilingual web platform offering event listings and partner search.

* Develops methodologies for structured cooperation with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Horizon Europe NCPs.

* Interacts systematically with national industry associations to broaden the EDF’s industrial reach.


Funding rate & budget

EDF-CSA actions are normally funded 100 % of eligible direct costs + 25 % flat-rate indirect costs.

The Work Programme does not pre-define a ceiling, but past CSA grants of similar scope were in the EUR 2–4 million range. Plan your budget accordingly and justify each cost category against the mandatory activities listed in the call.


Who can apply?

* Consortium: Minimum 3 independent legal entities from 3 different EU Member States or EDF-Associated Countries. In practice, a larger consortium (≥ 15 NFP hosts) scores higher on impact.

* Eligible participants: Public authorities, ministries, agencies, research centres, industrial associations, or any organisation officially hosting the EDF-NFP in your country.

* In-kind participation of non-beneficiary NFPs: Costs (e.g. travel) born by the consortium are eligible even if the NFP is not a formal beneficiary.


Non-eligible costs & limitations

* Sub-contracting of key project tasks (project management, training organisation) is prohibited.

* Military R&D, hardware acquisition or infrastructure investment fall outside the CSA scope.
