What the EU Wants

1. Increased exploitation of novel (passive, active or composite) materials in soft robotic bodies, manipulators and end-effectors.

2. Advanced design methods for non-rigid, deformable architectures with accurate proprioception in the absence of fixed joints.

3. New control techniques for compliant or bio-inspired structures, including model-free, learning-based and hybrid approaches.

4. At least three cross-sector demonstrators (e.g. healthcare, maintenance, manufacturing, transportation) proving advantages over rigid robots.

5. General-purpose tools & open results – share software, models, data and benchmarks via the AI-on-Demand platform.

6. Alignment with ADRA – dedicate tasks and budget to joint partnership activities.

Indicative Eligible Costs

* Personnel, subcontracting, travel, equipment, consumables, prototyping, demonstrator deployment, open-science/data management, communication & dissemination, exploitation, ADRA coordination.

* Indirect costs: 25 % flat rate on all eligible direct costs (except subcontracting & some unit costs).

> Tip: Leverage your country’s strong research infrastructure in materials science and robotics to maximise in-kind contributions and cost efficiency.
